A spectator was struck by a sudden illness in connection with the Allsvenskan match between GAIS and IF Brommapojkarna at Gamla Ullevi in Gothenburg. The spectator was taken to the hospital where it was later confirmed that the spectator had passed away.
GAIS wrote on their website that resourceful supporters who were nearby immediately initiated CPR, and two of GAIS’ team doctors were very quickly on the scene equipped with defibrillators and took over. The person was transported by ambulance to the hospital shortly before the start of the match. After the match, the police confirmed that unfortunately, the spectator’s life could not be saved.
All thoughts go to the affected person’s loved ones.
