Swedish Professional Football Leagues and all other members of the European Leagues unanimously believe that it is important to protect the basic principles of openness and that qualification for international club competitions should take place via annual domestic competitions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Sportsmanship must be what determines who plays at different levels, that is, each club must have the opportunity on the field to earn their right to play at the very highest level&#8221;, says Simon \u00c5str\u00f6m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Domestic competitions like Allsvenskan and Superettan are at the heart of supporters&#8217; passion for football. The unique scheduling and their invaluable contribution to local communities permeates the entire football pyramid and must be protected.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> Projects like the Super League threatens the structure of European football and that risk eroding the very essence of the sporting values, and that it risks increasing the financial differences between big and small.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The progress of professional club football is dependent on a complementary balance between domestic leagues and international club competitions.
