The beginning of Allsvenskan and Superettan has offered both sporting drama and colorful displays in the stands. With all 32 clubs having played their respective home matches, the total attendance figure stands at 240,021, which is the highest total attendance figure after two rounds played since 2017. <\/strong>
“In terms of attendance, this year’s two opening rounds are the best attendance-wise start in seven years,” says Ola Ryd\u00e9n, league manager at the Swedish Professional Football Leagues.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Of the 240,021 visits, Allsvenskan accounts for 199,253 and Superettan for 40,768. Allsvenskan increases by approximately 13,000 visits compared to 2023, while the number of visits to Superettan arenas is slightly fewer compared to after two rounds played in 2023. However, together the leagues show an increase of just over 3% compared to the start of the 2023 season, from 232,397 to 240,021 arena visits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Both leagues have started strongly, especially Allsvenskan which continues to grow. Superettan saw a significant increase in attendance from 2022 to 2023, and although this year we can see a slight decrease, many of the matches have had good attendance figures in the opening rounds,” Ryd\u00e9n continues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The average attendances in both leagues after two rounds played are 12,453 in Allsvenskan and 2,548 in Superettan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

AIK holds the highest attendance figure so far, attracting 36,602 visitors in their home opener against V\u00e4ster\u00e5s SK. Second and third on the list are Hammarby and Djurg\u00e5rden, whose home openers against Kalmar FF and BK H\u00e4cken at Tele2 Arena saw 29,882 and 22,485 visitors respectively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Superettan’s highest attendance figure so far was recorded yesterday evening at Olympia, where 7,122 spectators watched the match between Helsingborgs IF and IK Brage. Second on the list is \u00d6rebro SK – Sk\u00f6vde AIK (6,143) followed by \u00d6sters IF – Degerfors IF (4,207).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“We have been spoiled with incredible atmosphere and spectacular displays during the opening two rounds. The beginning of the season has made us very optimistic about the continuation, and it would be amazing to break attendance records two years in a row,” concludes Ola Ryd\u00e9n.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2023, a total of 3,028,537 arena visits were made during the season. It was the first time that both leagues together attracted over three million visitors in a season. Additionally, Allsvenskan reached, for the first time since the 16-team system was introduced, an average attendance of over 10,000. However, the modern record for the number of arena visits after two rounds played is from 2017 when the attendance figure after two rounds was 257,420, and the total for the season was 2,678,800.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Like last year, the clubs will be rewarded for their audience work during the season through Unibet’s initiative, Audience Support. The intention of Audience Support is to support the most important thing in Swedish football, namely audience engagement. A total of 20 million SEK will be distributed among the clubs to reward their audience work. No club receives less than 200,000 SEK in the distribution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
