At the 2025 annual meeting on Friday, Jens T Andersson was elected as the new chairman of Swedish Professional Football Leagues. This follows Simon Åström stepping down from the position to be eligible for election as chairman of the Swedish Football Association.
“I am happy and proud to be back, but above all, I appreciate the support the clubs have shown throughout the process. I look forward to continuing to develop Swedish football together with the clubs,” said Jens T Andersson.
Around 75 people from the elite clubs in Allsvenskan and Superettan, along with invited guests, gathered for the annual meeting in Solna, with former chairman of the Swedish Football Association, Karl-Erik Nilsson, presiding over the meeting.
Simon Åström steps down after three years as chairman of Svensk Elitfotboll and is replaced by Jens T Andersson, who was elected in a by-election for a two-year term. This marks Andersson’s second tenure as chairman, having previously held the position between 2021 and 2022.

As Suzanne Hellström stepped down from the board, she was appointed an honorary member of Swedish Professional Football Leagues.
