Following a comprehensive evaluation, the board of Swedish Professional Football Leagues has decided that Johan Lindvall will step down from his position as Secretary General.
Johan Lindvall assumed his role as Secretary General at Swedish Professional Football Leagues in the spring of 2023. Since then, he has led a transformation process within the organization, working with the board and staff to develop a new strategy for the coming years.
“On behalf of the board, we would like to thank Johan for his time with us and wish him the best in his future endeavors,” says Jens T Andersson, Chairman of SEF.
During his tenure as Secretary General of Swedish Professional Football Leagues, Johan focused on developing Swedish elite football on all levels.
“Of course, I’m disappointed that I won’t be continuing this journey. It’s been a rewarding and challenging period that has taught me a great deal. I want to thank all 32 clubs as well as our partners for a great collaboration. I also want to thank my colleagues at SEF and wish everyone the best going forward,” says Johan Lindvall.
Lena Engström, currently Deputy Secretary General, will assume the role of Acting Secretary General with immediate effect.
“The board will now begin the process of recruiting a new Secretary General to continue the transformation journey and address SEF’s future challenges”, concludes Jens T Andersson.
